Domestic Travel

  • Call our office and request a “Domestic Travel Health Certificate” appointment

  • Contact your airline. Many airline companies have different, additional requirements.

  • If you are a breeder, contact the Alabama State Veterinarian’s office at 1-334-240-7255 (press 1) and be sure to tell them when you call the office, as there may be additional information needed and possibly a different health certificate.

International Travel

  • Please call our office and request a call from one of our veterinary nurses RE: the country to which you are traveling in preparation for an “International Travel Health Certificate” appointment. They will research the regulations and call you back. NOTE: International Travel Health Certificates often involve examinations, microchipping, and testing – along with a labyrinth of forms. They can be simple or quite extensive, depending on the country. Please call as soon as you know where and when you will be traveling.

  • Be ready to provide type of animal and country of destination. The information provided will help us determine inoculation requirements and health certificate requirements.

  • Contact your airline. Many airline companies have different, additional requirements.

  • An International Standards Optical (ISO) microchip is required for all pets for entry into most countries. Contact Animal Medical Center to have this chip embedded in your pet, or if you already have had your pet chipped, Animal Medical Center can scan it to confirm it is the correct type for international travel.
